I’m not really a racing fan. Then one idle afternoon I opened Sky Race 3D on a whim and stayed glued to it for almost two hours. A few things about the game stuck with me, and I’d like to share them with you.
It’s a 3D racing game developed by LunarStorm, free to play on Playgama. The tracks float in the middle of the sky, with sharp turns, huge loops and enormous gaps. Your car has wings, so when you launch off a ramp it really flies instead of dropping out of the sky.
The goal is simple: beat the AI rivals, fly over the gaps and cross the finish line first. Finishing unlocks a new level, but the final ranking is what stings if you lose it.

The first thing I loved was how lightweight it is. The game runs right in your browser, with nothing to download, and works on both phones and computers. A weak laptop or a work PC is fine. Just open the game page and press play.
Hold the left mouse button and drag left or right to steer. There are no complicated accelerate or brake keys, so newcomers can jump right in. The real challenge is timing your run-up to a ramp and keeping the car straight while it’s in the air.
In my first few runs I floored it up every ramp and plunged into the clouds. Later I realized that not every ramp is worth taking. Some jumps let me leave the whole pack behind, but others made me land off line and lose my rhythm completely.
Here’s what I learned after a few dozen races:
| Situation | How I Handle It |
|---|---|
| Approaching a launch ramp | Center the car on the track before going up |
| Mid-air | Drag the mouse gently so the car doesn’t tilt |
| Rival right next to me | Fly across the gap to cut the corner instead of driving around |
| Before a sharp turn | Use smaller drags and avoid jerking the mouse |
| Final stretch | Favor a safe landing over one more risky jump |
Yes. The game is completely free on Playgama.
No. You play directly in your browser, with no installation needed.
Yes, the game supports both phones and computers.
Yes, there are many tracks and levels to try. Reaching the finish line unlocks a trickier map.
If you want a light racing game that’s easy to pick up but still gets your heart pounding on those jumps over the void, give Sky Race 3D a try. I’m sure you’ll shout at least once when you land inches ahead of a rival’s bumper.
